Your Path to Justice: 13th Annual Calgary Legal Advice Clinic Returns

In a continued effort to champion equal access to justice, Pro Bono Law Alberta (PBLA) is delighted to announce the return of the 13th Annual Calgary Legal Advice Clinic (CLAC) on December 12th, 2023. This year, in collaboration with Calgary Legal Guidance (CLG) and Norton Rose Fulbright Canada LLP, we extend a warm welcome to Shell Canada, a strong partner joining us with a shared aspiration of empowering the community.

Continuing the tradition, our dedicated volunteer lawyers will step out from the courthouses, bringing their passion and legal expertise to the beautiful Calgary Central Library on Tuesday, December 12, 2023, from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Members of the public can receive FREE, confidential advice from a volunteer lawyer for 30 minutes. This year’s Calgary Legal Advice Clinic will cover legal issues across various sections of law, including Family Law, Immigration, Civil Litigation, Landlord/Tenant, Employment/Labor, Wills and Estates, Criminal, and, for the first time, we are introducing Privacy Law to the clinic.

How to Book Your Appointment:
To streamline the process, appointments will be facilitated through pre-bookings. Starting Wednesday, November 22, and running until December 6, individuals can reserve their spot online by submitting their application online Here, or by leaving a message on our intake line at 403-541-4804 between 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m.
Given the popularity of the clinic, appointments are allocated on a first-come, first-served basis. Please be ready to share details of your case, including information about opposing parties, with our intake volunteers when making your appointment.

Walk-ins and Additional Information:
While the primary focus is on pre-booked appointments, there may be limited walk-in slots available on the day of the clinic, December 12. However, walk-in availability is not guaranteed, so securing a pre-booked appointment is strongly recommended.

We look forward to welcoming you on December 12, 2023, for a day dedicated to advancing access to justice in our community.
