In view of ongoing impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic, including restrictions around large gatherings, travel bans and most importantly, the health of our registrants, presenters, and staff, PBLA has decided to reschedule the National Pro Bono Conference. The conference will now take place from September 29 to October 1, 2021. Venue arrangements will remain the same; the conference will be held at Hotel Arts, and conference attendees will enjoy a visit to Studio Bell, the home of the National Music Centre, for the awards banquet. Ticket holders will be refunded in full.

We are grateful to the access to justice community and conference planning committees for their ongoing support and encouragement. Hundreds of hours of work were put into planning this conference in the last few months, and we look forward to building on these efforts as we plan for the Conference in 2021. We also remain thankful to our funders for supporting the National Pro Bono Conference and Pro Bono Law Alberta’s mission.

The National Pro Bono Conference remains the only national access to justice conference in Canada, and one of the symbols of our nation-wide belief in the importance of access to justice. We know that the legal response to the COVID-19 pandemic will be the focus of access to justice organizations and stakeholders in the coming months and look forward to gathering in the near future to discuss experiences, challenges and learnings from this pandemic.

If you have not done so, please consider joining our conference mailing list to stay current on future conference updates

From our PBLA family to yours, we hope that you stay safe and healthy during these trying times and look forward to hosting you in Fall 2021!

Sincerely,
