Pro Bono Law Alberta’s offices are temporarily closed, effective Thursday, March 19, 2020, to mitigate the potential spread of the COVID-19 virus. PBLA staff will be working remotely and at full capacity.

Be advised that the Civil Claims Duty Counsel and Queen’s Bench Court Assistance programs at the Calgary and Edmonton courthouses will remain closed until further notice. The Volunteer Lawyer Services Roster program will continue to operate.

In this state of public health emergency declared by the provincial government of Alberta, our top priorities remain to protect our staff, volunteers, program clients, and overall community. It is of the upmost importance that we do our part to “flatten the curve” and slow the spread of COVID-19.

Note that you would need to contact the organizations listed directly to enquire about their criteria for legal services, and that the COVID-19 pandemic may also be impacting their service delivery.
